Cellar Door Wines English Virtual Wine Tasting with Winemaker Michael Rhodes

Accidental Winemakers Michael and Irene Rhodes will tell us their story of how they came to be making the fine and rare English wines of Wimbushes in St. Albans and Hawkswood in Thurston.

Michael and Irene will be talking us through 4 of their wines. Two are from grapes grown on the Wimbushes Estate in St Albans from the 2020 harvest and two are from his Estate, Thurston Place in Suffolk.

We will also be joined by the owners of St. Albans' Wimbushes Vineyard - Andrew and Karina Harrison, who will talk about their Solaris and Rondo vines and the challenges of running a vineyard as a hobby. Don't miss out - book your ticket asap!

How does it work?
One £75 ticket includes:
- A Zoom Link to log in to the tasting at 19:30 hosted by Penny @ Cellar Door Wines and Michael Rhodes.
- We will deliver 4 bottles of wine to you plus cheese and snacks.

* Delivery is free if you are local to us, but an extra £9.95 (*possibly more depending on how rural you are) if you are not in the St Albans area. Please note that we cannot send you the wine and food if you are not on the UK mainland!*

The 4 wines you will receive:
- Wimbushes Vineyard Solaris 2020
- Wimbushes Rondo Rosé 2020

Residents of Harpenden street Piggottshill Lane have teamed together to brighten up their road in the run up to Easter with a fun, family initiative.

The locals have decorated their windows with Easter eggs. Some of the eggs have letters, so the aim is to find all the eggs and work out the hidden message. They will be on display from 4.30pm on Saturday 20th March to Monday 5th April.

To download and/or print the Piggottshill Lane Easter Egg Hunt activity sheet and get involved, visit tinyurl.com
